Publication Ethics
The statement of the scientific code of Ethics in Jurnal AL-Muta`aliyah : Jurnal Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah is a statement of the code of ethics for all parties involved in the scientific journal publication process, namely managers, editors, reviewers, and writers. The code of ethics statement is established to maintain the quality of manuscripts and avoid publishing violations and plagiarism in the process of publishing scientific publications referring to the provisions of scientific publication ethics by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and Regulation of the Head of LIPI Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics of Scientific Publications, which in The bottom line is that the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications essentially upholds three ethical values in publication, namely (i) Neutrality, namely being free from conflicts of interest in publication management; (ii) Justice, namely giving authorship rights to those entitled to be writers; and (iii) Honesty, namely free from duplication, fabrication, falsification and plagiarism in publications.
Manager's Journal Assignment
- Determine the name of the journal, scientific scope, periodicity, and accreditation if necessary.
- Determine the membership of the editorial board.
- Define the relationship between publishers, editors, reviewers, and other parties in a contract.
- Respect confidential matters, both for contributing devotees, writers, editors, and reviewers.
- Implement norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyrights.
- Review journal policies and submit them to authors, editorial board, reviewers, and readers.
- Create code of conduct guides for editors and reviewers.
- Publish journals regularly.
- Guarantee the availability of funding sources for the continuation of journal publication.
- Build a network of cooperation and marketing.
- Preparing permits and other legal aspects.
Editor's Duty
- The decision to publish an article is the responsibility of the Editor in Chief of the Al-Muta'aliyah Journal who is responsible for which articles will be sent to the journal that must be published.
- The Editorial Leader is guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and is subject to legal requirements regarding copyright and plagiarism.
- The Editor-in-Chief may confer with other editors or reviewers in making this final decision. Manuscripts should be evaluated solely on the basis of their intellectual value without regard to the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, or nationality of the author.
- Editorials and editorial staff must not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the appropriate authors, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and publishers. Unpublished material disclosed in a submitted manuscript may not be used by anyone viewing the manuscript (when handling it) in his own research without the express written consent of the author.
Reviewer's Task
- Peer reviews assist the Editor-in-Chief and editorial board in making editorial decisions while editorial communication with authors can also assist authors in improving papers.
- Reviewers who feel they are not qualified to review their assigned manuscripts or are unable to provide an immediate review should notify the editor and withdraw from the review process. Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They may not be displayed, or discussed with, anyone except with the Chief Editor's permission. Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain.
Objectivity Standards
The review must be carried out objectively. There will be no personal criticism from the author. Reviewers must clearly state their views with supporting arguments.
Source Acknowledgment
- Reviewers must identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors. Any statements previously reported elsewhere must be accompanied by relevant citations.
- Reviewers should also call the attention of the Editor-in-Chief/Editor's Board to any similarities or overlaps between the manuscript under consideration and other published papers of which they are personally aware.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Reviewers should not review manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any author, company, or institution associated with the paper.
Author's Task
Reporting Standards Authors of original research reports must provide an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. The underlying data must be presented accurately in the paper. Papers must contain sufficient detail and references to enable others to copy the work.
Data Access and Retention
Authors may be required to provide raw data with respect to papers for editorial review and must be prepared to provide them with public access, where possible, and in any case, must be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable time after publication.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that they have written truly original work, and if authors have used the work and/or words of others, these must be properly cited or quoted.
Multiple and Concurrent Publication
An author generally should not publish manuscripts describing substantially the same research in more than one journal or major publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time is unethical and unacceptable publishing behavior.
Source Acknowledgment
Proper recognition of the work of others should always be given. Authors should cite influential publications in determining the nature of the work reported. Authors of papers should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, implementation, or interpretation of the study being reported. Everyone who has made a significant contribution must be listed as a co-author. If other people have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they must be acknowledged or listed as contributors.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
All authors must disclose in their text any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that could be construed to influence their results or interpretation of the text. All sources of financial support for the project must be disclosed. Fundamental errors in published work When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his published work, it is the author's obligation to immediately notify the editor of the journal or publisher and work with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
