Islam as a religion comes to provide benefits and solutions to the social problems of the people. One of the life problems faced by Muslims is poverty. Of course, Islam has an important role in providing a way out for this social problem, one of which is the teachings about generosity. In a thematic context, the Qur'an contains many keywords for generosity, such as: al-Infaq, Ta'am al-Miskin and others. This article proposes two problem formulations: how is the concept of generosity in the Qur'an? And how is the interpretation and social spirit in the verses of the Qur'an regarding generosity? By using social interpretation as an analytical tool, this article finds several conclusions: (a) In the thematic aspect, the verses regarding generosity have several keywords, such as: Yunfiqu Amwalahum in QS Amwalihim Haqqun in QS. az-Zariyat: 19. (b) The verses regarding generosity contained in these keywords contain messages and the social spirit of the Qur'an, including: aspects of concern social, social ethical aspects and aspects of socio-moral religious responsibility.
